I guess I should stay away from Bryz tonight? Rask is already out, just means no goalies? Ouch!

I just always thought Simmonds would take on anyone.....but the Toronto Philly game about two weeks ago changed my opinion on that. Maybe, it just wasn't fair for me to think that. Either way, it slightly changed my view on Simmonds.

You also need to consider that Simmonds' game has evolved talent-wise to the point where he's actually an important asset to have out there on the ice. Before when he was a "lower class citizen" (no, that's not a racial slur) he could afford to fight these cans without considering the consequences on his team.

Just checking hockeyfights.com, Simmonds had 10 fights last year. That's a fair share. And he's on pace for about 8 this year.

He fights quite often actually. And looking at his opponents last year he took on some 'heavy weights' in Dorsett, Prust, Bickell, Boyle. So now Im confused.

I don't fully buy into the whole 'we need you on the ice, rather than the penalty box' theory. It's Simmonds. He should be able to rally his troops, pump up his mates and help his team win with a fight just as much as when he's on the ice.

If Philly relies on him to play those 4 shifts instead of fighting, than they are in some trouble.

In the last 3 years including this season, Simmonds has 20 fights compared to Lucic's 16. If Boston can do it with Lucic who is far more valuable than Simmonds, than I don't see why Philly should be telling Simmonds to cut back on dropping the gloves.

Interesting discussion.

According to nhl.com, NHL2013 is predicting a Flyers win. I don't like that score!

I'm going down swinging...I'm starting Bryzgalov.

My luck would be if I decided to bench him and he'd get a shutout. As he's my top goalie (ouch) in the RHRS I'm rolling with him.
