Obviously he's referring to the future when Ovie returns to his 60+ goal form and Green re-activates beast mode again. All they need is a new coach who will bring a fresh system that complements their strengths. Duh...

I respect their decision to be afraid of Crosby's concussion woes just so long as it isn't based on, "he's one hit away from never playing again," for the simple reason that that statement applies to everyone. I just personally think the upside with Crosby is so drastic that I'd take a chance on him over anyone else without concern.

I don't have the patience right now to sit down and think about who my top 10 would be, but I just want to make the point that for all of the people probably thinking players are getting slighted for not being included on this list, that the C position is incredibly deep so there are gonna be A LOT of people that have to be left off. I mean 5 or 6 of the top 10 Cs are top 10 picks in fantasy leagues to begin with, to put things into perspective.

Quote:
I can't fault anyone for placing Crosby at #1, but the thought process is pretty straight-forward to me. You have Crosby, who is the best player in the world. Without a doubt the most "upside" potential. Having said that, most people on this forum talk about Crosby's "upside" as if he's going to imminently break out and score 150 points or something. The reality is that his peak in EIGHT seasons has been 120... and he's never come close to that total again. Naturally the response most of you will give to this is "well he's been injured for extended periods in 3 of the last 5 season!". My response to that is... well then, you just answered your own question as to why I don't have him at #1! Then you have Stamkos, who is the second best player in the world (sorry Malkinators). He is healthy as an ox, is one of the best conditioned players in the NHL, arguably has more room for growth than Crosby, AND he's an automatic lock for 50 goals and 90 points every single freaking season. I don't have to worry about him getting hit, I don't have to worry about him missing games, I don't have to worry about who he's playing with... I don't have to worry period. And personally, I think he has yet to even hit his ceiling and soon enough he'll posting 100+ just like Crosby and Malkin, but that's just me. From that perspective, Stamkos at #1 makes sense. Flame on.
