Default Trying to find a keeper goalie...who to target?

I'm pretty much in the cellar of my league because my goalie situation completely exploded. I went into the season with Hiller, Brian Elliott and Markstrom...we can all see how that's turned out.

Needless to say, I need to find a keeper goaltender moving forward so I can compete. My forwards are actually pretty strong, it's just my goalie stats holding me down.

My current goalies are Markstrom, Lehner, Hiller and Garon. We can only keep one, so a lot of other teams will have goalies available for a draft pick.

Here are some of the options that should be available:

1) Halak
2) Anderson
3) Mike Smitih
4) Dubnyk
5) Kiprusoff
6) Holtby or Varlamov (not sure which he'll keep)
7) Brodeur
8) Ward
9) Reimer
10) Bryzgalov
11) Lindback
12) Backstrom

Is there anyone I should target, or would you keep one of the young prospects and then try and draft one in the draft (assuming my pick is decent enough to grab one) and go from there?

I'd take Ward. Overall he is a strong goalie, still young, and Carolina is improving dramatically.

Trade deadline is the same as the NHL trade deadline, though trading opens back up after the season is over through the NHL playoffs.

It's most likely that I'd make the move after the season has finished because most people in contention won't trade their goalies.

Why does Ward get so much love on these boards. He has never had a GAA under 2.44 and only once a SV% over 920.

I would target Halak!

I would say Halak, Ward, Smith, Backstrom and Anderson are the best options...if the cats are GAA, SV%, W and SO, I would say Halak, Smith and Anderson if he can come back from this injury ok

Ward gets the love because he's young, he's good and has no real competition within the organization. That's why he also gets my pick off the list posted.

He is 29 thats not exactly spring chicken, he has no more upside IMO. And like I already pointed out has never put up great numbers never mind elite ones.

Yeah I think I would be waiting this to see what happens - like Hiller stoning the Wild (so far anyway).

Depending on how good a pick you have in the draft I might be tempted to hang onto Markstrom and throw Hiller et al back in the draft and see what you land for a goalie.

He can probably get any of those goalies for a low round draft pick though, because otherwise the other teams would lose for nothing. I like the idea of trading a low round draft pick for one of the goalies - especially if he plans on contending in the next year (which he insinuates he is, as he has good forwards).

I keep Smith there - good peripherals decent record. Anderson Ward Halak are also good options. Dubnyk is an interesting proposition - if Edmonton's young core gets good real fast he could be a great option as well.
