There's an update today, the 20th, a short way down in the link..

"Vanek is considered questionable for Buffalo's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday, reports Bill Hoppe of the Olean Times Herald. Interim head coach Ron Rolston didn't rule him out, saying the decision will come down to Vanek's ability to handle the pain."


Sounds more like pain than a major injury. Here's hoping.

Thomas Vanek (lower body) returned to practice Friday morning.
Vanek didn't play Thursday due to the injury, which he suffered Tuesday when he was hit by a shot from teammate Christian Ehrhoff. It's a little surprising Vanek was on the ice today considering the Sabres are off until Tuesday, but it's possible coach Ron Rolston is planning to give his team some time off and wanted Vanek to get some work in. This bodes well for his chances of returning to the lineup Tuesday.
