Does anyone know anything about his status other than the press box? He's been out for a while now, and I can't imagine it will last for long. Maybe a trade, or whether or not he's coming back anytime soon? Appreciate any news I can get, especially with seasoned Leaf Fans that would know. Rep available for quality info/replies.

I think he might be done with the Leafs, unless injuries happen. Carlyle has been pretty stubborn with in handing out his minutes (Orr playing a ton, Kadri relatively limited ice time despite leading the Leafs in points, Kostka on the first pairing for a while, not calling up Gardiner, etc, etc). His contract seems reasonable for a puck moving D, so maybe he gets traded for a team desperate for D, but I'm surprised he is rotting in the press box.

I am a little surprised too. 7 games is a lot for 'sending a message' Once he gets back in, rust could be as much a reason for poor preformance as any other issues.

Thanks guys. I sense a deal coming. Somethings not right considering hes not injured. As long as they conitunue to play well, I don't see him cracking the lineup. They know they can move him and get something back for him. Or he could be in next game. Tough one to figure out.

I don't think Liles is getting traded. To me, he's the Alberts of the Canucks.
Generally, you play a guy you want to get traded so other teams know what the player's caliber is like.

Liles just isn't good anymore. Was never good defensively, and his surge in offensive production has died off. If Toronto doesn't have room to play Gardiner, they're never playing Liles.

I seriously doubt Liles will be put in the lineup anytime soon. The Leafs would welcome a trade for Liles, even just a 2nd or 3rd.

Interesting. I would think that a team like Detroit would make a move for him. You really think there is no market for him at all?
