Default Studs & Duds - Monday, 02/25/13

Studs & Duds

STUDS

"Blackhawk Up": Congratulations to the Chicago Blackhawks for winning in OT to the score of 3-2 over the Edmonton Oilers. Chicago now has a 16-0-3 record and has earned 35 of 38 possible points so far this season. When will it end?

"Josi can you see": I saw! Roman Josi with the big 4pt night (2G,2A) and a +3 with 6 SOG and 4 blocked shots. This is, in my book, arguably one of the most impressive fantasy nights of the season. Wow!

"Three's Company": Anze Kopitar and Michael Ryder both did a triple take, finishing the night with 3 apples each. It's good to see Kopitar warming up. That's 6pts in the last 3 games. 12pts in 11gp during the month of February.

Ryder with 4 SOG and 4:18 on 1PP last night. He is in a contract year. With Dallas' young forwards producing and Ryder's recent uptick in PP and production, do not be surprised if he gets moved by the deadline. He wouldn't be a bad trade target to acquire for a team in need of some veteran push in the quest for a championship.

Honorable Mention:

Jakub Voracek with another multi-point performance: 1G,1A. He's over a ppg with 24pts in 21gp.

Ben Bishop stopping 44 of 45 shots last night for a .978sv%. That's back to back solid games.

Nazim Kadri with 2 assists last night. That's 17 points (5G,12A) in 20 games. If he keeps it up, on with the "Is Nazim Kadri for real" threads in Dobberland.

Duds

"Preparation RNH": He's playing like it. RNH with 1 SOG and another zero point performance. That's 4, count' em. Back to Back to Back to Back goose eggs! In 17GP, The Nuge has 7 points. Sadly, he only has a whopping 2 pts in 10GP for the entire month of February. Sophomore slump? Or did playing in the WJCs do more harm than good?

"Hello! Anyone there? No one is answering.": Dallas appeared to have their game in hand with Nsh until they gave up 4 unaswered goals. Forget Big D, i'm just trying to see if there is any D(efense) in Dallas.

"Not so Fasth!": Viktor wasn't his usual self last night. Mr. Fasth actually looked human last night, giving up 3 goals in the 3rd period. Calm down, people. We don't want to see a million "Trade Fasth" threads tomrrow. There's no need to jump off of th bandwagon. The guy only won 8 consecutive before last night. This is more disappointment than dud I must say.

Next time, One.

P.S. Pardon the quality of writing. This may not be the most impressive list of Studs and Duds for last night. I apologize for that. I had a family emergency that involved a breaking and entering.

Dude, what happened with the breaking and entering? everything ok?

I thought you did a great job lol...I wouldn't have even written this if there was an emergency.

Hey Bondon, thanks for asking. Everything is cool. I got off work at 12:30am and got the call immediately. Someone broke into my son's home. I normally get home 1am. I got home around 3am or so and wrote this while I had a minute. Otherwise, I would not have gotten it done. I really appreciate you asking.

Back to hockey, Ryder and Kopitar went ape pooh last night. I think Ryder stands a good chance of getting moved by the deadline with his contract. He's also had an uptick in minutes. It seems like he's being showcased a little.

Unfortunate about the break in, sorry to hear that. Nice call on Ryder getting moved!
