The whole Vancouver scenario can be summed up quite simply; win and you're in! Once you lose, have a seat. This whole "flip of the coin" BS that AV keeps slinging is just to get the media going.
Gillis is waiting for a desperate team to call and knock his socks off with a trade offer. If that doesn't happen he will stand pat. In a shortened season like we are in, he'd be foolish not to play this out any other way. Wait and see, Lou has lost so in goes Schneider. Once Schneider loses, in goes Lou! and so on, and so on....

I don't think Gillis is being arrogant. He's doing what any smart GM would do. In order to trade Luongo you have to showcase him. On top of that he has been playing very very very well. And since they are in the business of winning hockey games there is nothing wrong with playing a goalie who is 5-0-3.

You might want to ask about this in the Derek's Corner thread in the Lounge forum.

In a short season with a compressed schedule, it makes sense to keep both goalies this season. If Luongo happens to do well in the playoffs, everything changes.
I'm not a Canucks fan, but I think they should be looking to trade Schneider. They are in win-now mode so Lu's age isn't a big problem, and the return for Schneider would be far better. I guess it depends on whether the team has lost faith in Lu's ability to win big games. If it were me, I'd move Schneider.

funny what a couple weeks of hockey does. everyone was saying trade lu before the season, now that the tables have turned and lu is playing better, people are saying schneider should get traded.
what if luongo sucked ass these past couple weeks, and schneider was playing with vezina form? nucks need to trade lu, and find someone who will take him...cough cough washington

Been saying it for a few years. The Nucks will win a Cup when they have enough depth that Kesler is on the 3rd line. Schneider would bring that, in my opinion. Although, in a perfect world, Lu should bring more than what he will.

Luongo's contract sucks!! It doesn't matter how he plays, nobody will give what Vancouver claims to want.
