Default Traded Yak+ for Halak

Just completed a trade where I sent Yak/Lindback for Halak This trade spawned from another question I posted regarding my 4 keepers. Since I won't be able to keep Yak, considering my 4 already and I'm in a win now mode, I thought this deal helps now. I lead in almost all offense cats but rank near the bottom of all goalie cats, something needed to be done. I could have probably done better but this was the right GM at the right time. Our deadline is in 2 weeks. Be gentle, this trade pains me as I would have loved to keep him.

meh

i would have wanted a kicker in terms of a pick upgrade or something if he can keep both of those players but its not a horrible trade given what you are looking to accomplish

I think had put a little more effort into this I probably could have....I'm a little disappointed that I didn't, considering how much work I put into other offers that were rejected. But it serves a purpose.

Hey you did what you needed to do to win, that is basically all that matters. Sometimes you just need to "catch" the right deal for your team, and not worry about if the value is totally equal.

I agree with Marwin. If your goal is to win now and it puts you in a better position to do that then it's a good trade.

Thanks fellas, makes me feel a little better about it. Here's a list of waiver wire players I could use to fill the vacant spot.

1st I have a waiver claim in for Skinner, but probably won't get that one. After that here's a few you can help me rank.
Perron
Tlusty
Pouliot
Hodgson
Brouwer

Edit: Feeling better about this trade already. Lindback pulled after 3g on 10 shots tonight.

I'd have to think Hodgson might be the most consistent of that bunch.

Lindback's pulled already and the panel in the 1st intermission ripped him. Bad glove, too many holes for a big guy, exposed with TBay's weak D etc....Lindback is not the player you might miss. Halak is a definite upgrade when healthy.

From Roto:

Anders Lindback lasted just one period Sunday night, giving up three of the five goals in Tampa Bay's 5-3 loss to the Penguins.
Lindback made just seven saves in the period before being yanked for Mathieu Garon for the remainder of the game. Garon would face only 11 shots the rest of the way, sticking aside 10 of those (the final goal was scored with the net empty). The Lightning have showed they can score at will, so it's their goaltending and defensive play that will ultimately determine their fate this season.
