Only 8:43 of icetime. Benched or hurt?

I haven't seen anything, except a quote from him after the game about their bad start. No mention of a problem, could just be reduced ice time with the PP1 so hot, they are getting tons of time, Giroux had 26 minutes, so that could be Briere's missing 5-6 minutes... And Hartnell is back also....

In Laviolette's post-game press conference, they ask him if Briere was benched, he says "no, it's just the way the lines rolled". Makes me think he's being supplanted by younger kids. Although he's playing with Schenn and Reid. Lines this game:

Briere's on the third line, maybe the second powerplay.

Is he dropping like a stone in their depth charts? He played 15:33 last game, 13:43 the game before...

Talbot and Rinaldo are not going to usurp Briere for a top 6 position. Laviolette is most likely just trying to send a message that backchecking needs to be better.
