I'm sure he is in most leagues, but is he in mine? See my team in my sig below. I get to keep 4 players next year (any position). Right now my keepers are probably Malkin and Ovie as the top 2 and between Seguin/Backstrom/Gaborik/Pietrangelofor the bottom 2.

The offer I've been given is his Datsyuk + Voracek/Kesler + 2nd round for my Pietrangelo. It sounds pretty fair and I am tempted, but it leaves my D a little thin. Dmen aren't really keeper worthy in my pool unless it's Karlsson IMO. I'm thinking of trying to get him to send me Del Zotto as well and I'll drop Eriksson.

So at Datsyuks age (he'll be 36 next year), do you see him being a keeper over any of those guys? If I keep any of the forwards as my bottom 2 keepers than Pietrangelo wouldn't even be a keeper and its best to deal him now.

Your keepers are and would/will be Malkin/Ovie/Backstrom/Seguin regardless of what you do with this deal. Datsyuk is great, but he and Seguin are equal at best, and Seguin is on the rise.

Well, yeah. I just went by the guys he listed as potential keepers, didn't look at the goalies. If you can keep Quick do it. Might keep Seguin over Backstrom but that's close. This just pushes Datsyuk further down the list.

EDIT: Although looking at your scoring settings, I'm not sure how much value a goaltender like Quick actually has. He's really only worth the 30-40 wins he should record each year plus a few odd shutouts, while a guy like Backstrom will get you as many points as he scores.

Datsyuk is not a keeper in a 6 team, keep 4 league. Datsyuk as a fantasy player is quite overrated, just because of how great a player he is, in real life.

Quick is definitely not a keeper in your league, especially due to the fact that your league is only 6 teams deep.

Looking at you roster your keepers should be:
1. Malkin
2. Ovechkin
3. Backstrom
4. Seguin

I guess I'm just one of those Ovie and Backstrom owners who are getting a little frustrated with them so far. Backstrom is actually on my bench right now as I'm playing Ribeiro over him (am I crazy for having 3 Caps? lol) I'm just waiting for Backs to pick up or to play with Ovie again before I put him back in my starting lineup.

he may not be a keeper in this setup but i disagree that he is overrated

points are a big part of fantasy hockey and from 08-09 through today he is 14th in points

he is 6th in +/- over that time as well

yeah the guy isnt some kind of multi cat beast and his age is a consideration the smaller the league gets in terms of if he is a keeper or not but the guy is still a very good fantasy option

there is no question that he is much better in real life than fantasy however the guy is pretty farking great in fantasy as well

Bang on. Only reason for me that I wouldn't keep Datsyuk over the others already mentioned is his age.
