A Flyer-fan owner is jumping on the Voracek bandwagon and offered me Burrows for him. I got Voracek off the FA list so it feels like a freebie to get a proven producer like Burrows, especially when paired with my Kesler. Plus, he has dual eligibility in Yahoo, LW/RW. Should I do the deal, or figure that now that Lavy has him with Giroux and getting serious PP minutes, I should hang on to him? Thanks!

Yeah, I am not a bandwagon guy, and despite Burrows having 10 less points right now, he has scored 5 of them in the last 2 weeks. I might reject the trade and dig a little deeper into his pocket. I'm suggesting Voracek + Schultz for Burrows + Byfuglien, or maybe Hedman. You never know.

Formerly frustrated, currently elated Voracek owner here. I nearly dropped this ugly fool too...now he's looking like a wise fantasy keep on my part. is this the beginning of something bright for him with Giroux? or simply the flavor of the week. I may look to sell high as my RW keepers are getting jammed up with Perry, Yak and Semin already holding down 3 spots (and I can only keep 2 RW and 2 Util).

Interested to see where this thread goes.

Here's how I break it down. Best way to cure hot-streak fever is numbers. Stat lines the past 3 years:

Burrows: G A pts +/- PIMS
'09-'10: 35 32 67 34 121
'10-'11: 26 22 48 26 77
'11-'12: 28 24 52 24 90

Voracek: G A pts +/- PIMS
'09-'10: 16 34 50 -7 26
'10-'11: 14 32 46 -3 26
'11-'12: 18 31 49 11 32

Burrows is clearly the safest bet here. He has the track record to score more goals, is a lock to rack up +/- as long as he skates with the Sedins, and will put up respectable PIMS for a top 6 forward. To top it off, his worst season is pretty equivalent point wise to Voracek's developmental plateau. The big however is of course Voracek's sizable upside. Best case scenario for Voracek this season IMO, is a prorated stat line that looks something like: 25-30 G, 65-70 pts, 10-15 +/-, 30 PIMS. I personally am a rather conservative GM and prefer the Burrows side quite a bit. You lock in a respectable production floor and bring in +/- and PIMS that are an upgrade. A good case could be made for Voracek, but I don't think the gamble is worth it, especially if you went into the season not drafting him.
