Karlsson's owner is gunning for the win and I'm no winner this year.

He desperately needs a goalie upgrade if he wishes to remain at the top so
he's offered me Karlsson/Theodore and a 1st for Sharp/Schneider. I declined.

I don't care about Theo. I'm thinking Karlsson/Tarasenko + 2nd for Sharp/Schneider.

I'm biased so what are your thoughts?

Schneider > Karlsson once Van gets rid of Luongo
Sharp > Tarasenko (maybe in the future it's different but now not)

With those stats I'd keep Lundy and Schneider and not have to worry about goalies for a long time

I would look at the 10 guys that you are keeping and then the guys that you would have to drop if you didn't make this deal. The talent that you are dropping is too great to not trade some away and get value for it. If you needed goalies or forwards I wouldn't do it, but you are already strong in those positions. To land the best dman in the game and a first round pick is massive. You definitely don't want to bring in another goalie but even if you get Tarasenko you should still push for the 1st round pick.

How many years do you think Sharp has left in the tank being the player he is?
How much confidence do you have Tarasenko being a futur stud?
I'm not contending this year as it is.

I am actually debating trading Karlsson as well just like your contender is looking to.

I love Sharp, he was a stud for me last year. Looking at your team you actually need an upgrade on the blue line and Karlsson is the best D-Man.

I would actually say it goes Karlsson > Sharp (they are practically equal, minus the fact Karlsson is a D man!) and then Schneider > Tarasenko.

The key here is gaining huge in the long run and he is gaining huge in the short run. It's win win - if you can suck out a pick for it I would pull the trigger.

if you are going to counter i would counter with a straight swap of tarasenko and theodore in the deal itself

keep the 1st rounder in there that can be your wiggle room to drop to a 2nd rounder

Still hesitating on making the offer. I'm feeling I'm on the wrong side of the trade mainly because of Schneider being in it. With Schneider and Lundqvist, my G could be a lock for a long time if Schneider puts in good numbers. Fasth is anything but a sureshot and so is Lindback.

um its karlsson

schneider is a very nice goalie for sure but he will never be to goalies what karlsson is to defensemen

yes it is a steep price to pay however a week and a half ago you couldnt even sniff karlsson with this deal
