I know that many posters here rave about The Wire. I also thought it was fantastic. Although I would love to see a Blu-ray release, the DVDs for the entire series is on sale for $79.99. If you haven't seen it yet, do yourself a favor and pick it up. Stringer Bell, for the win!

Best show of all time imho. I have watched the complete series 3 times and all three times it took me less then a week to finish it! Pretty much put my entire life on hold every time I decide to watch it. Avon Barksdale for the win

I've only watched the series once but I would like to again.

One of the standout scenes I remember was McNulty and his partner (can't remember the name atm) investigating a shooting scene in a kitchen, and the only word they use in the entire conversation (over and over) is "f*ck".

Also the classic "OMAR COMIN'! OMAR!!", of course.
