The below is from CBS. Now, I'm not suggesting that Martin is better than Letang or a more valuable player to have on your team or anything silly like that. But what (if anything) can be read into this in terms of Martin's value for the rest of this season?

News: Paul Martin scored a game-winning goal Sunday afternoon for the Penguins.
Analysis: His increased confidence has given him an increased role on the power play. Paul Martin's ability to distribute the puck and particularly, his calm manner, lies in stark contrast to Kris Letang's frenzied mentality. Martin saw exactly five minutes on the power play, compared to 2:31 for Letang. Martin now has nine points (2G, 7A) in 16 games. He had nine points after 33 games a season ago.

Interesting for sure! But there is a difference between distributing the puck and shooting it with blazing speed into a tiny corner. He may be a calm QB, but he ain't Norris material! But thanks for sharing this! That's something to think about if I need another D.
