TSN panel made a good point (!) when Karlsson went down with that injury tonight. He is probably the ONE guy on the Sens they can't do without. Panger said the same would go for Rinne. Without him the Preds are done. Got me to thinking...what about some of the other teams? Is it goalies or goal scorers in almost every case?

Although he hasnt had the greatest starts to this season, you have to think Giroux is as important as it comes for Philly. As stated by Laviolette, their PP runs through Giroux.

Considering the amount of game time Bernier has been given the past few years, you have to think Jonathan Quick is pretty damn important to the end result for the Kings as well.

Sorry gfhyde, I disagree with the Chara mention on Boston, they have a deep enough roster that there isn't a skater that could go down that would destroy them. Don't get me wrong, Chara would be a huge loss but they would probably pull a decent record without him. If Tuukka went down though (saying my "hail marys" now to avoid this), that might be a different story. Khudobin has looked good in limited action but I doubt he's a full-time starter.

Detroit - Datsyuk

Montreal, NJ, NYR, Nashville, Phoenix would all be screwed without their tenders. St Louis too but we are already witnessing that.
