Default Did I help or hurt my team?

It was very difficult for me to make this trade considering I am a life long Lightning fan, but today I accepted the trade Vinny Lecavalier in return for James van Riemsdyk.

First, the reason I accepted it. I needed another LW, and van Riemsdyk gives me both center AND left wing eligibility. So it's a double whammy, just in case. I'm not sure if van Riemsdyk is going to continue to produce in Toronto, and I know Vinny's play very well because I've watched him for many years. But, I'll skip all the talking and get to my roster.

The way my roster is set up in my league is:
F
C
C
LW
LW
RW
RW
D
D
D
D
D
UTIL
G
G

My current roster being:

C: Ryan Nugent Hopkins, Adam Henrique, John Tavares (and now technically van Riemsdyk)
LW: van Riemsdyk, Matt Moulson, Daniel Sedin, and Gabriel Landeskog.
RW: Jordan Eberle, Ryan Callahan, Corey Perry, and Tyler Seguin
D: Ryan Suter, PK Subban, Zdeno Chara, Dustin Byfuglien, and Oliver Ekman Larsson
G: Jonathan Quick, Viktor Fasth, Niklas Backstrom, and Evgeni Nabokov

Thank you.

League scoring categories and keeper requirements are needed to really give a good assessment of this deal.

Lecavelier probably provides you with a better punch this year and next, but if you weren't in a spot to win it all this year or next, JVR should start out-producing him and help you be more competitive in the future. There's some risk with him though, but he has a good spot in the Leafs lineup to succeed.

I agree with this. Vinnie's number have gone down the last three seasons, and after an hot start this year, has started to come back down (one point in four games). I think JVR is the better long-term option.
