hi all,

what' the consensus on damien brunner? when i check his espn game log... he is just CONSISTENT. and he's seeing time with zetterberg and datysuk apparently?!

im feeling a pick up for him but im not sure who i would drop in my situation.

any advice?

I traded him recently and I've been regretting it. He's getting top minutes, playing mostly with Franzen and Zetterberg.

Having said that, you don't have a lot of "drop-worthy" options....I don't like Marchand, but I'm probably letting my personal feelings cloud my judgment. In a keep 3 neither are keepers, and I think they will be close to even at the end of the year. Brunner does get top line PP, so that's an advantage over Marchand. Read up on Brunner, and if you like what you read, you have a perfect way to get that diving joker Marchand off of your roster.

Edit: Marwin may be right about the PIMs...but Marchand hasn't been delivering in that department so far this season.

In a small 10 team league like the one you are in, players like Brunner hold very little value, as there are just so many good players to go around, that it's tough to make room. The only player on your team even worth considering dropping would be Marchand, but Marchand is much better for PIMs and is much more proven.

Brunner is probably going to stay available for a good while, even if he keeps his nice solid consistent pace, so I would maybe look into swinging a 2 for 1 of some sort, for a small upgrade and then have Brunner fill the void.

I'm really impressed right now with the fact that Brunner has been incredibly consistent so far this year.

If you look at his game log, he has points in all but five games....and he hasn't gone longer than two games without a point...and those were his first two NHL games of his career so I think it's safe to give him a pass on that.

One thing I wanted to question however, is how lately he's been horribly minus through Detroit's five game losing streak. It doesn't look good. He's minus-6 over that span...is his two-way play coming into question or is it more a case of bad luck? Hoping that Wings fans chime in here or anyone who actually watches Detroit play.
