Re-visting this thread, one week later - are the feelings still the same? Gagner is still producing, and Callahan is still not putting up any points.
I offered Gagner and Burns for Callahan and Chara just to see what he'd say, and he declined , but is working on a "blockbuster counteroffer". Should I wait, or send another offer, bc he's taking a while. I am leading my League, but need to prepare for playoffs (top 6 make it, so I *should* be good) Anyone see a good subtle deal for me to pull ahead to offer him? His team is the following: C: Crosby, M.Richards, Plekanac, Couture LW: Kunitz, Marchand RW: St Louis, Callahan, Michalek D: Chara, Doughty, Hedman, Franson, G: Bryzgalov, Varlamov, Vokoun ---------------------- Is this a good trade for me? My Gagner for his Callahan. Is Gagner ready to bust out, or just on a hot streak? The other owner is a big Oilers fan, and pulled the trigger on a Yakupov for Callahan deal until Callahan got injured and the other owner bailed on the trade. League stats in sig below, but Callahan should boost my Cats if he can produce like last year and should be equal or still higher in the points Cats right? Should I offer this trade, or offer someone else, or not at all? Rep for a good reply! Thanks guys!

I don't think Gagner will keep this pace up, but think he'll have a career season (somewhere in the vacinity of a 60 pt prorated season). That being said, I like the idea of moving him for Callahan. Callahan has averaged 24 G, 206 SOG, and 260 hits over the past three years and has improved each year over that span. He also will be skating with a combo of Richards, Nash, Gaborik, or Stepan almost every night and get PP1 minutes, which means he'll have opportunities aplenty. So I say make the move if you can.

Another 2 points ... man .. its soo tempting to just keep him!!
Anyone else think its still a good move to jump on? It'll sure help the trade while he's still hot that's for sure

Yeah, on simple terms...I drafted Callahan in my league 12 team, 16 man roster league and Gagner has been and still as a free agent.
I'd definitely go with Callahan. I think he's pretty underrated and is the Rangers Captain for a reason. |

Thanks guys for the confidence boost ... I was getting cold feet
![]() One87, I always appreciate your response, you have great insight! So I offered the deal .. decided to try and sweeten the pot and see what happens, but then if all else fails, I'll go back Gagner for Callahan, which he *should* take since I feel Gagner is much better than Yakupov is! I'll keep you guys updated!

One week later - Should I still pull the trigger on a one for one? Will Callahan pick it up anytime soon?
Any multiple player offers that you see? I'd be willing to do an odd man one and I'll pick someone off waivers too or just stream someone (4 moves per week) I'd be interested in maybe trying to pry Crosby off him, but that might be tough. Suggestions anyone?

Callahan's value hasn't changed due to one week of average production. NYR offense is kicking into gear and the window for this trade will be closed if you don't act soon.
As much as I'd like to nab Crosby for my team as well, he isn't exactly a pryable player. Think Rask or Price + one of your top forwards. Just do the Gagner for Callahan trade and be happy at the end of the season for buying low on Callahn.
