Saw he posted 2A last night, playing 20mins a night so far and getting 2nd unit PP time.
In a points only league (which is VERY deep, 24 teams, 23 man rosters) is he worth a pickup? What's his long term upside? |

He's looked real good filling in on the Jets' back end, but realistically, he likely won't stick with the team very long. Buff should be back soon-ish, and Bogosian is a couple/few weeks away from returning.
Postma is the guy from St. Johns that the Jets are bringing into the fold this season, so Redmond is just a fill-in for injuries. That said, Redmond is a solid player, with a bit of offensive upside. He won't get a good look for a while, though, and there's a long line of defensemen in front of him in Winnipeg. He's the next best in St. John's, though, so he may get a good look next year. Clitsome has looked pretty awful, so I could see Redmond stepping into that spot next year. |

I do like Redmond, but I don't think this is his year. Like mentioned above, he's seeing ice time right now with Byfuglien out, once Buff comes back Redmond will be back in St. John's. Definitely a player to keep an eye on, just not one I would be expecting a lot from this season.

Actually, he wasnt in St John's after the NHL returned. He actually made the Jets out of camp but has been in the press box. Thats until Buff got hurt and he got his chance.
As it stands right now, once Buff comes back, that will probably force him back up into the press box but he sure is making the most of his opportunity and giving Noel something to consider.

Redmond is really earning himself some quality ice-time. 24 minutes last game, and it sounds like today he'll be on the second pairing with Ron Hainsey. Clearly the coaches like what they see, and are very comfortable putting him out there.
I'd love to see the Jets lose Clitsome in favour of Redmond. |

If he's up to 24 minutes then someone else will go to the press box when Buff returns.

There's also Bogo set to return, possibly as soon as a week from now. Not sure how things will go down then.

Pretty deep league for sure, is this a keeper? If so, taking a flyer on Redmond might make sense. Ride it out, see what happens and worst case scenario if someone is looking for a rookie D you have some trade bait.

Well it's a keep 5 + 1 (Drafted after the 10th round/WW pickup) Meaning he likely would not be kept. But still with the size of the league and what was available I took a chance on him.

He's worth an add in a league that deep, for sure! He's off to a fast start. I think he's a 25pt guy.
