This game has forced me to eat crow. I did say earlier today that it would be all-time awful to drop Varly for Fasth... maybe not so much anymore.

He had a nasty reputation as a cruel dealing manager
they said he was ruthless, they said he was crude
they had one thing in common, they were
good on reading the spread
He said, 'Fasth, Fasth. My other Goalies lights are turnin' red."

I should have
picked up Fasth
WELL

Thats Life in the Fasth lane
Surely make you lose your mind, mm
Are you with me so far?

Can you you say shutout!

Your words flatter me sir, haah I'm not planning to sell high on Fasth in my cap dynasty league. He'll likely have a shot at starting or platooning at a modest cap hit next year if this continues for another few weeks. He's a strong hold right now.

Btw, I'm well aware Colorado sucks offensively, but if you watched that game, you saw how good on odd-man rushes Fasth was. For an NHL rookie, it's been beyond superb.

Your goalies are full of holes
As pucks rip by the net
Of black & gold
They twinkle as the
Boys play give & go
They know that they don't have a chance
At least they know

You can't stand the heat
You're asking for the cheque
The Dobber manager a crimson thief
Has Fasth round his neck

Hello hello
(Hola)
At least you dont have Vertigo
(Donde esta?) Viktor Fasth

He's everything you wish I didn't know
But you give me something
I can feeeeeeeeeeeel

All of this, all of this could have been yours
All of this, all of this could have been yours
All of this, all of this could have been yours
Just give me what I want
And no one gets hurt

Who gets more starts this year and into the future, Hiller or Fasth? obv not easy to predict but I'm not expecting Hiller to be in my top 2 golaies this season.

do I drop him for Fasth and if he holds on great if not then I still have 4 goalies beyond him? I'm so torn, I know he'll get snatched up quickly.

He plays calmly, so the D does too. I've only ever seen this a few times with goalies in their first NHL season in the 22+ years I've been watching hockey.
I read an article in the OC Register a couple days ago (after the San Jose win) where Souray said that Fasth talks a lot on the ice, directing traffic, spotting the defenders, calling out plays, etc etc. I'm not saying Hiller is a mute, but that might have something to do with the players playing better in front of Fasth.

Something else that was a great reveal in that article was that Fasth is one confident dude. I like that in a goalie.

Not if you're a goalie and Boudreau is your coach.

To be fair, I stand by what I said earlier in the thread. If things hold to form, I still think it will be near a 50/50 split. Boudreau isn't one to ride his golden horse, but Hiller is a somewhat well-established starting goaltender in this league. I'm sure he'll right the ship eventually.
