Is eating into Hiller's playing time as I predicted he would a week ago and has looked good doing it thus far. I call him the real deal in a long term league. He most certainly has average to above average starter's potential.
I've watched him in every game he's started. His vision, reflexes and movement are superb. He's also generally solid technique wise. He's nearly as good as Hiller after only a handful of NHL starts, get him in a dynasty league if you can! EDIT: AMAZING pokecheck on Patty Marleau to stop a shorthanded breakaway!

Is Fasth in for the 3rd period? I'm watching the game and I swear I see #30 aka Fasth but for some reason espn shows that Hiller is in for the 3rd. Really bizarre.

No, Fasth is still in. But the writer/scorer is apparently hitting the crack pipe. Fasth's been very sharp too. Amazing sprawling poke to stop a breakaway and a few other good saves in the third.

Yeah I have the game on and Fasth is clearly in (and looking great). I just checked NHL.com and they have Hiller in as we'll so it's not espn's fault. Looking at Fasth's play so far do you see him taking the job from Hiller in a one year league. I'm thinking on picking him up over Neuvirth because the Capitals net situation is such a mess. Just trying to decide if I don't now or wait to see if Neuvirth starts tomorrow.

I don't think he'll win the job outright but it very well could be a platoon type situation very soon. The Ducks have another B2B this weekend and he'll get at least one start, it sure seems. Boudreau has always been willing to run with the hot hand so Fasth could end up getting the majority of the starts for the short-term. If you want a third option based on match ups, he could maybe be considerable.

Having very few other options makes him even more appealing. The Ducks as a team this year seem to be a different team every night. Some nights they win 2-1 other nights its 7-4, the nice part is that they keep winning. I haven't seen enough of them to know if its the team or if Hiller is playing awful.

Ugh, the problem I'm having is he is having good starts and has some good value but I don't really want to carry 4 goalies already having QUick/Bryz/Varlamov.

Don't do it. Kipper has several seasons of excellent numbers while Fasth has played a total of 3 NHL games.

I quashed the desire to gamble. Thanks for the words of caution
