Default Trade Schneider, go for it all this year???

I have been offered

M.A Fleury
Parise
Rnd 16 and 20

for my

Schneider
Rnd 2 and Rnd 5 Pick

Schneider holds alot of value because the first year of the keeper league was last year and he was taken in the last round(20) so to keep him next year he will only cost a 19th round(every subsequent year the round moves up one
) so Schneider could be a great keeper for quite some time. It might be hard to contend next year losing those 2 high draft picks, our league only keeps 3 forwards and one goalie so there are alot of good players to select in the early rounds of the draft. For this year it would help me alot to try and defend my title as i would basically be getting Parise + MAF for Schneider. I also currently have Vokoun. Should i think long term or go for broke this year?

Losing those picks probably kills you for next season in a league where you keep a grand total of 4 players one of which has to be a goalie. Is having a great chance at winning one year, worth having very little chance in the next? I personally don't think so, and without the trade you could still mange for this season.

When I first saw the trade I thought it was a no brainer, but when you factor those picks in, in your type of league, I really do think it hurts way too much.

If this trade guarantees you the win, I would do it. I have a hard time believing that it guarantees the win this early. Too many things can go wrong with so much time left.

I would hold off for now. Explore yours options. Schneider sounds like a trading chip that can push you over the edge for the win. Its still way too early to cash that chip in.

I think this is the right advice. Schneider's value is low b/c of all the consecutive Luongo starts. I can see this hurting you in G and you may need to make a temporary move to help with that.

My concern is twofold: a) Fleury isn't a fantastic peripheral G anyway and Vokoun is eating up his fair share of starts, and b) Parise is a beast, but your LW are under-appreciated [meaning he doesn't completely renovate your team...Lucic is great in multi-cat format, Pac is back and scoring, and Conacher is on a tear on an electric PP].

Trading Schneider is the kind of move I also prefer you make once you're quite certain it will cement a W for the pool and it's too early for that. I would consider a milder move right now to add a 3rd G just to ensure you get a few more starts in there.

EDIT...if you also have Vokoun [I didn't read closely enough...was just looking in your sig] you may still be able to tread water in the G starts department...Schneider will get some looks again.
