I only chose Gretz because he was an Oiler, but go ahead pick any other great from the past, Mike Bossy, Stevie Y, Gordie Howe, whoever you want, I never saw them doing bullshit like this. Its got nothing to do with Don Cherry either, I think he's fulla shit and irrelevant. I dunno about you but I never had a coach in ANY sport I played growing up who would tolerate a display like that Yakupov celebration.

But whatever, you've made your mind up that this kind of behavior is somehow a positive for the league, just don't come back whining when it snowballs into something much more like the NFL. Personally I prefer a league where good sportsmanship still exists, I always found that part of the appeal of hockey...its a brutally physical sport, you hit and hack and fight and trash talk and you downright hate some of your opponents but you can still have sportsmanship.
