Hey guys,
I guess this is a perfect buy low scenario on Ovechkin (compared to his value from 2-3 years ago). Ovechkin would replace Kovie as my LW keeper but the big question is whether it is worth it as I was going to take Rask & Halak forward as my keepers for the foreseeable future but with this trade my keepers would be Rask and either Miller/Luongo (depending where Luongo lands). Would really appreciate your thoughts, is it worth the risk!!!! Scenario A Keepers Tavares Malkin Kovalchuk Green Doughty Rask Halak/Miller Scenario B Keepers Tavares Malkin Ovechkin Green Doughty Rask Miller/Luongo

seeing that your keeping green, you must have some faith in the caps offense going forward.
i also do, that is why id rather the ovi side. this then gives you the season to see if luongo gets traded and make your number two goalie decision.

Loungos looking good this year depending where he land hes going to be elite for another 3-4 seasons defiantly a good trade IMO.

I would keep what you have, don't drink the Ovie Kool-Aid.

I guess the question is whether Halak is a significantly better keeper moving forward than either Miller or Luoingo???
Still not sure what to do..............

I think Miller, Loungo (depending where he lands) and Halak are a wash. So its basically IMO Kolvachuck vs Ovie and you got to still think Ovie is going to return to some form even its only his 85 point form two seasons ago with his perphials thats still a top tier player.

Goalie stats are 4/10 which is pretty significant, and though Halak is a #1, he shares a lot with Elliot.
Contrastingly, Luongo is a number 2, but might be traded and be an instant #1. Don't let the off year fool you, I think Roberto has more good years in him, and is better to have than Halak.

Mercy... talk about a tough trade to analyze.
I dislike Ovechkin & Kovalchuk on exactly the same level. I like Halak & Luongo on the same level... and wish both got more starts. I'd still with Halak/Kovalchuk, just because St.Louis is an incredible team right now. |
