Default Cory Conacher

What are your thoughts on Conacher? 9 points in 6 games is impressive to say the least, obviously he can't keep up this rate of production but I do think a ppg pace could be attainable.

He seems to have some great hockey-sense and I really feel like Tampa Bay (with Mighty Mouse MSL) is the perfect place for him to feel he can excel.

That said, TB's schedule so far has included 6 of the weaker teams in the East: WAS, NYI, CAR, OTT, PHI (Leighton start), FLA.
It has also included four home games (where home team gets last change)
They've got one more nice match-up against Winnipeg.

And then the schedule gets tougher:
NYR, PHI, NJ, BOS, NYR, MON

So... just prepare... there might only be 2 or 3pts in that 6-game spell.
We haven't seen Tampa Bay really play a tough opponent yet, IMO.

I love the kid... he's like MSL v2.0. He even looks like MSL on tv...

He also plays on a decent 2nd line with Lecavalier. I would probably peg him as 60 point guy this season.

60 points in 48 games or a 60 point pace?

Pace... there will be 3 guys in the league or less who are at 60 points by the end of the season and Conacher won't be one of'em lol

Yup Cory's in great position probably 60 point pace pro rated, with an upside of low 70's.

I've been having the same questions and I had someone offer me Wheeler for Conacher and Perron.

Should I negotiate this package? I feel all 3 of them will have a max 70pt pro rated season. Also I love conacher's PIM's.

I would stick with Perron and Cory, I think Perron and Wheeler are a wash and Cory is just a nice little bonus right now.

Its hard to predict him long term but right now he looks like a 70 point player pro rated which is a Wheeler. I wouldn't make that trade.

Don't get me wrong, I do like Conacher a lot long term... But his spot is not yet set in stone. Any injury or prolonged slump and we may see Brett Connolly eat up ice time. He's a very good asset but it is also largely relative to his situation right now. 3rd line duty would really hurt his value.

Even still, I expect him to succeed in the short and long term, though there will inevitably be a slowdown soon.

Great call Pengwin! Conacher has been pointless in the last 6 games against those tougher opponents so actually you were a bit too optimistic. Rep to you. Hopefully guys here listened you and sold high on Conacher. He's still a very good young player but his value was probably the highest it will ever be after his first 7 NHL games. The hype machine was running high on him after the first few weeks of the season.
