No chance.
The "Winnipeg treatment" is only a short-term thing because they were previously Atlanta and the owners have to accept their position when they buy the team and relocate it.

It was only two seasons (last & this) that Winnipeg had to play in the Southeast conference.

With "expansion" the NHL can set a price for the expansion team to pay.
And you can bet a team is going to pay WAY more if they know they'll be in a division with THE Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, etc.

I, personally, think Florida & Tampa Bay are more likely to be split up (if needed). The only advantage to having them in the same conference is they'd have 2-3 games a year where they'd travel to the other Florida team instead of up north. It's not significant enough to HAVE to keep them in the same division.

Absolutely....

It's embarassing to think that the league would add more teams, when we have 5 (easily) that simply aren't working....
