You guys might want to start preparing for something more serious...like season ending surgery serious.

I hope it is not the case, but I'm hearing it is looking like that is the most talked about course of action and the one they are leaning towards right now.

Oh man, I really really hope your sources are completely wrong (although I very much doubt that).

Added hit for my squad is that any loss of Spezza for the season or any extended period will almost definitely impact Karlsson's production.

Yep.

More importantly though, this will seriously impact the Senators chances for the playoffs.

He's not "hearing" anything other than radio speculation, which is based on nothing. Wait and see for now.

What would be the best thing to do right now if you have Spezza in your roster? Wait and see how serious his injury might be or try and trade to get some value.

I'm worried that my team could be taking two bigs blows this week with Landeskog being knocked out indefinitely.

TSN just said it's his 'back'. Not shoulder....but more serious than they first thought.

Hmmm....a real mystery.

FRom Garrioch via the Ottawa Sun:

It's a certainty Spezza won't be going on the road with the Senators when they face the Carolina Hurricanes Friday in Raleigh and then travel to Montreal for a rematch Sunday afternoon at the Bell Centre.

The Sun confirmed Spezza, who has had back problems before, was in Toronto getting evaluated by doctors. He was spotted at the Ottawa airport Tuesday night catching a flight, but returned to the city Wednesday morning.

MacLean wouldn't acknowledge Spezza was out of town, which added to the mystery surrounding the situation.

There was talk on Twitter that Spezza could be gone for the season, but that may be premature. If he does have a procedure, the timetable would be determined then.

Huge impact if he is done. Sens have won something like 2 of their last 20 games without Spezza. Different time now with more depth, but you can't replace Spezza.

I will chalk that up to a bit of jealousy.

No rush moves; just wait and see. If he is done for the year, someone who is rebuilding will still take him off you in exchange for points this year.

You're full of it Notch. Jealous of what exactly? don't tell people you're "hearing things", when you're just listening to the radio and checking twitter like everyone else. Stop being a fraud.
