Default Yandle - 3 points!

Finally!

So what's the chance he gets moved? It would make sense given the Yotes perennial deficiencies upfront and the emergence of OEL. He'd look great in Philly or Edmonton and I'd assume he would proffer a nice return.

Could happen but that Yandle deal is still a pretty affordable contract. I think it would take a Godfather offer to get a trade done for him. He still offers a ton of value even with OEL passing him in terms of overall value to the franchise. What the Coyotes need in return is a franchise centerman but those are even more scarce than franchise defensemen so no one is going to give one up for Yandle. My guess is lots of teams want him but no one wants to pay the price. Everyone wants something for nothing.

Coyotes would be best served hanging onto Yandle unless that Godfather offer comes and then once their ownership situation is sorted they can go after a franchise guy in free agency without giving up any talent. The Coyotes do have a ton of depth on defense but as the saying goes, you can never have too many defensemen.

That three point game from Yandle really put me behind the 8-ball in my matchup already...and it's Monday. Haven't been having the best luck so far this season.

It's worth mentioning that this is the first game in a few that Yandle received more ice time than OEL. Not surprising that the numbers were there. He and Morris seemed to have PP1 duties tonight.

I have to admit I don't get a chance to catch too many Yotes games. How does Yandle's defensive game measure up these days? Adequate? According to my small sample of viewing, he seemed competent. I know OEL is a bit of a phenom but nonetheless, it was curious to see how much ground Yandle had lost to such a young alternative over the past year or so.

Don't think so OEL played 4m59 on the PP VS Yandle played 3m34 on the PP I agree whit Yandle played over 25min VS 22min for OEL. I am happy I have Yandle in my one year draft GO OEL and Yandle.

He's not necessarily losing much ground. He isn't receiving the minutes he did at his peak in 2010-11 when he skated 24+ minutes per game but he's still up around 22 minutes per with lots of PP time. He's never been much for penalty killing so he was never going to get minutes there and now that the Coyotes have OEL they don't have to throw Yandle out there in their own zone as much. He definitely has lost some ground but it's not a lot. They are still using him for offence and no he's not terrible defensively from what I've seen (haven't watched this season) but he's certainly not top notch.

Yandle is an alternate captain guys he's a major part of the team regardless whether we label it OEL 'surpassing' him or not, OEL has not made Yandle redundant by any means.

OEL definitely doesn't make Yandle moot - but losing 5 minutes of ice time definitely makes a difference in production.
