Thanks to advice from "experts" here, sleeper picks, selling high and getting draft picks thrown in, I have a very nice team.
Here is another chance to improve it: He wants Hossa plus RW's and he really, really, really wants Niemi. He has a few injured players and is panicing a little to fill those spots. Should I do this trade? My: Jeff Carter C/RW, Jakub Voracek RW, Marian Hossa RW, Matt Moulson LW, and Antti Niemi for His: Logan Couture C/LW, Nicklas Backstrom C, Milan Lucic LW, and Mike Smith His roster: *Keep 4F, 1D, 1G Logan Couture* - Ryan Nugent-Hopkins* - Jordan Eberle* Milan Lucic - Nicklas Backstrom* - Daniel Alfredsson Tyler Ennis - Stephen Weiss - Jaromir Jagr xxx - Paul Stastny - Nail Yakupov Erik Karlsson* - Andrei Markov James Wisniewski - Marek Zidlicky Howard* - Smith

If you can land that deal then you win big. If the deal falls through, I'd still feel ok with playing guys like Hossa, Moulson and Niemi. You got nothing to lose here, though I actually prefer Niemi over Smith.

No for me.
I actually really like Niemi and the Sharks this year. Let's first write out the trade in the correct order... your "ordering" of players just screws with my head: YOUR: Niemi (G), Hossa (RW), Moulson (LW), Voracek (RW), Carter (RW) HIS: Smith (G), N.Backstrom(C), Couture (LW), Lucic (LW) Right now, Hossa is a much stronger multi-cat player than N.Backstrom. Couture is hot... but I don't see that lasting as he only gets in on the San Jose powerplay points. His own line isn't that strong, good but not dynamite. I'd pass. I like your team but it is not a keeper upgrade by any means and I'm not sure it's even an upgrade for this year. I have no faith in Phoenix & Mike Smith - especially with regard to this-year's-stats. |

Pengwin7 this was the team you helped me build last season.
Ended up winning the league on the last day during the last 3 games that night. Started out just looking for some grit/PIM with Lucic and this trade kinda developed and turned me to the message board for advice. I do like Niemi over Smith a lot as well. That is where the balking all started. Lastly, should I deal Tarasenko for someone like Clowe for that grit/PIM? Have made killings on sell high players. Is it the right time to move him? |

Well... I'm glad to hear you won!
I think I remember helping you debate about Parise as a keeper. He's working out well, eh? I really like your current team, I'd hold pat the way it is. I've watched the Blackhawks play 3-games this season and Marian Hossa is in beast-mode. He looks good... really, really, really good. The one thing I'd suggest is to map out your entire H2H playoff week schedule. See how many goalie starts you are likely to get. Without saves, I may be looking to move Cam Ward. I wouldn't worry to much about PIM - you can always forecast a fight (search "Daily Goon") to help you stock a few PIM when you need them. |
