Another GM in the league is in dire need for a goalie.

He's offered me Datsyuk for Halak

I think I'm in fine shape with Lundy, Schneider and Ward.

Should I pull the trigger on this?

im in the same position as you, with too many good goalies. i was offered datsyuk for my ward....im holding out for kopitar or backstrom as of now.
halak has been on fire and i belive st.louis to be the best team in the west..id want a bit more, depending on how valuable goalies are in your league.

You're not nuts, bondon. I would have pulled the trigger too. Yeah, Datsyuk isn't young but he's got a few years of PPG performance left in the tank.

Trade depends on league style (Roto or H2H) and number of teams.

In Roto - it's a NO. Halak is fantastic across the board and you want lots of goalies with SAVES counting.

IN H2H - it's a maybe. I always want to look at the H2H playoff weeks first and see how many games your goalies will actually play in each week. Do you have enough Saves to beat other teams in the league? (This depends on # teams in league and how many goalies they are holding.) If you win SV weekly, you don't want to compromise losing a guaranteed category win for some maybes.


Recommendation:
If H2H, write out your current entire 3-week (?) H2H schedule with how many goalie starts you get WITH & WITHOUT Halak.
Evaluate from there.
(Yes it's a lot of work... but these things win championships.)



ps. Add the league type "H2H" or "Roto" to your SIG. Also add your starting positions, "daily" or "weekly" starts, and number of teams in league.
These are very helpful and keep us from needing to ask every time.
