1st in TOI/G in the entire league and 2nd in points by D-men. Top penalty killer and top PP guy for his team. Been rock steady for Minnesota and worth every penny they gave him.

like I said, my personal choice would be PK, but I think Suter will win it because traditionally the people who vote for this award give it out based on reputation and generally like to award a dman who has played at a high level for multiple seasons. Karlsson was a bit of an exception, but he was so much better than everyone else that there was no question he deserved it. This year, although PK has been unreal, Suter is close to him in points and is a "safer" option because he has put up solid numbers many years in a row and has "earned" the award.

I know it sounds a bit crazy, but traditionally that is how the voting is done. They don't like giving the award to the new kid on the block.
