I know given his shoulder/wrist situation it's a bit risky, but I was just offered the following deal:
I get: Kesler and a 2nd round pick I give: Coyle, Klefbom and a 1st round pick The difference in draft spots for the 1st and 2nd rounder largely depend on where we both finish, so if I do well it could be around 14 picks or less difference or if I do poorly it could end up being 14+ picks. I feel good about my team and I feel like getting Kesler would only help improve my squad. I know I sacrifice a lot of young talent, but I feel that I have a chance to make a playoff push this season and don't want to wait for my good prospects to blossom. What do you think?

I would not do it. I think Kesler's goal scoring breakout was a bit of a fluke and the guy plays so tough that he's going to have a career hampered by injuries from here on out. Plus, he'll be coming in cold, off an injury in a shortened season this year, not much time to adress his conditioning or game timing. I would avoid him, personally.

I'd take the risk on Kesler if you feel your team needs a risk-to-payoff in order to join the contenders in your league.
Kesler's goal-scoring (when it happened) was real. He was working on a new shot with a new stick and discovered something. I don't have the link, but if you google it, you'll find it. My bigger concern is that he has "shoulder" problems and those are sometimes devastating for a sniper (see Heatley, Dany). |

as long as you think you won't finish last and give him the first overall
I would do it. Klefbom and Coyle are likely 2 years away from making any impact. Plus it Kesler's peripherals that make him valuable.
