Just made this post to list/discuss a few fantasy duds so far this season. I know its only a few games into the season, but because of the shortened season the leash is much shorter now. Feel free to post any thoughts or views!

(This outlook is based on a basic ROTO style league)

Dustin Brown: If you own Brown you understand the agony I have experienced only 3 games into the season. He has 0000000s across the board except for a 5, unfortunately that 5 is a negative and that's his +/- tally 3 games into the season. I actually don't even know if its worth starting him anymore as the Kings as a team look abysmal.

Jakub Voracek: I drafted Voracek with hopes that he would finally blossom into that gifted winger most of us have been waiting for. Maybe playing with Jagr taught him how to take his game to the next level? So far this season he has 2 points in 4 games with a -2 rating. One of his goals was an empty net sitter and other then that he's been really quiet. The Flyers are in big trouble with Hartnell DOWN and Briere still recovering. Furthermore, it is clear that they miss Jagr, especially on the power play as their PP has looked lost at times (currently ranked 24th). Now the Flyers are signing Knuble in hopes to get some kind of spark. Some people see this situation as an opportunity for Voracek to show he can play that top line, but I see only bad. I feel Laviolette will continue to juggle lines and Voracek will fade away.

Jack Johnson: I did not expect big things from Johnson seeing how he is playing with one of the weaker teams in the NHL. But I did expect him to be a decent 3/4 defenceman. So far this season Johnson is a -2 and pointless. I haven't watched any of the Columbus games so I'm not sure if someone can enlighten me as to if Johnson has been active or just looking like poop?

Nicklas Backstrom: Hasn't had the worst start but what worries me is the Capitals team in general. Changing philosophies and coaches like I change my underwear isn't going to help players like Backstrom produce. The majority felt that the hiring of Oates would spark a fire under the asses of Ovy/Green/Backs but so far the Caps look really bad. I feel that Ovechkin is done as an elite fantasy producer and unfortunately Backstrom will suffer. I truly think that the new GF has negatively affected him. Furthermore, teams have clearly caught on to his habits/tendencies. He is a pretty 1 dimensional player and it is apparent through his statistics that teams have realized that. The Caps will eventually somewhat turn it around but in a shortened season will Backstrom turn it around on time.. or maybe I should ask will Ovechkin?

Once again the season is short BUT in a shortened season you have to pickup on bad situations earlier on. I could write forever but these are the few guys who I feel are really in question. Thoughts?
