Default H. Sedin + for Getzlaf + Nash

Yes, I have another trade proposal question. League in sig. H. Sedin fell much later than I thought he would in our draft and I was lucky enough to grab him. I put him lower than most in my draft rankings as I think Vancouver will have an off year (the first few games have reinforced that thought). I had Getz much higher than most in my draft because I think he is in for a big bounce back from last season. I also think Nash is going to go on a tear with Richards and Gabby and I would love to benefit from that. I think the Sedin name is huge when he's involved in a trade, question is: who would I have to throw in the mix to make this happen?

I was thinking H. Sedin + J. Staal for Getz + Nash but that is probably wishful thinking, as I have Sedin > Getz > Nash > Staal.

Who else in my team can I throw in to make this happen? (league in sig) Or will I have to give up too much?

Thanks for entertaining my 3rd of about 3000 trade threads I'll start this season. I'm an active manager...too active.

Not trying to bump, but Pengwin7 I'm looking at you on this one. Your draft advice was solid and generally agree with most of your posts.

Update (even though nobody has commented yet):

I've offered: H. Sedin + J. Staal for Getzlaf + Nash.

any chance this gets accepted? Anyone else I should throw in the mix instead of Staal?

This is the only thread I have ever posted here that has gotten zero replies. I knew a lot of people disliked the Sedins, but damn.

I actually prefer Sedin and Staal to Getzlaf and Nash. However, I do agree that the Sedin's should be in for a less productive year than we're used to seeing, and that both Getz and Nash should be in for bigger years. Staal, however, if the x-factor for me, and I think Carolina will turn it up and that Staal will be a big part of it. He's a multi-cat stud, and Henrik is clearly he best player in the trade, so if it were me I'd stick to my guns.

That being said, 4 studs in this trade, can't really go wrong either way.

Yeah, I can't decide which side I like best. I think Getz will be a PPG player this season along with Sedin. I think Nash will rack up goals with NYR especially on a line with Richards and Gabby. I agree that the wild card here is J. Staal. He always looked like he deserved a bigger role and now that he's in Carolina he will get the chance. My team (the one in sig) looks like they're going to be heavy on assists but light on goals. Nash is a step forward in the goals department but my +/- would take a big hit if I took Nash and Getz.

Still undecided if I should throw the offer out there.

Not many responses earlier today, so I'm giving this a bump. Ready to rep.

I like the deal for the Getzlaf+Nash side. The Sedins, while great, are the only source of offense the Canucks have until Kesler comes back (whenever that is) and will be in tough every night. J. Staal is nice but he's kind of unproven in my books from a top-6 point of view. Excellent 2nd-3rd liner though. And Nash is going to do great if that Richards-Nash-Gaborik line sticks.

I'd say great if the other guy accepts.

That pretty much how I see it also. I put the trade out there today and I'll see what happens. He took Nash as his 2nd pick over Neal and some other top players so I have a feeling he's not going to accept it but we'll see.
