I have a team that is really not very good, but has some good parts. I took it over last year and am trying to do the best I can. I think I need to blow it up and start over as I am a middle of the pack team with many holes. It is a dynasty league with the following scoring:

As G's make up 50% of the stats - I would not do this deal. You have the best G in the NHL, and you are losing a ton in many of the key stats.

If you are trading the King, would focus on getting back another strong G (maybe on a losing team) who is capable of being a top tier Goalie.

Also would move your older guys (Thornton) if you are in a re-build. You are strong at C, so would focus on LW (or D).

CLEARLY Varly and Neurvirth are NO WHERE CLOSE to an upgrade over Lundy.

Duchene is NO WHERE NEAR a scale changer for me.

Maybe selling players in their early 30's isn't the best way to rebuild. They still have years of compete left in them.

If you're committed to blowing it up, I'd look at selling St Louis for the moon.

It's really not a bad team.
When I took over a team last year in a 12-team league, my best players were Getzlaf & Lecavalier and my best goalies were Brodeur & Backstrom. Now THAT is a team struggling for talent. (And I actually cut Lecavalier this year to keep Clarkson).

Tavares/Spezza/Thornton/Lundqvist + J.Schultz.
That's a great start - hold those guys and try to build through hot waiver players.
Eventually, if you are out of it... you may consider trading Martin St.Louis.

Without PIM, I'm probably not hanging onto guys like Chris Neil & Nick Foligno.
With four offensive categories... I think you are better just hawking the waiver wire for guys who are finding a way to shoot a bit or are on good teams and will put up a PLUS.

I messed up...PIM is a category and I am looking at trading St.Louis for Benn. Maybe I will put my effort in there

It's not an overall bad trade as most make it sound but I'd say no also.

Spezza is one of the best when healthy which is spotty so i dont mind u shopping him and gettin kopitar back is a great start. Duchene and col seem to be hit or miss these days. Bu still an elite player. Varly and Lundy is the draw here. Varly i think will be very good but also injury history. And I'd choose Lundy everyday. The thig to me on this deal is that 4th part. Neuvirth is a wavior wire pickup these days. He will get a start with holtby not shutting the door now but holtby is the starter it seems. Also neuvirth has injury history.

So if u wanna chase a deal here maybe see about getting a more secure 4th piece. Just be sure to make note that its a 4 for 2 and you will need to drop guys to make the room. So factor that into the deal also.

I cannot seem to give Thornton away...pushing him and St.Louis hard last year and to start this year. Maybe buddy will add a beter peiace to the deal, but I am not sold on selling Lundy for sure.
