The only thing I am hesistant about is with Benn and his value in multi-cat and his possible upside 2-3 years from now. Also giving up the first round pick, but that's the cost. Does Benn's youth and upside outweigh Ovechkin's possible decline?

Is this a no-brainer? My keepers would be Malkin, Backstrom, OV, Karlsson, Rinne. Not too shabby.

Appreciate any replies
Honestly, you have the leverage, so you set the bar. I'd much rather have Doughty and the 1st over Yandle and the fourth. Maybe he doesn't understand that he has 2013 OV, not 2005 - 2010 OV. I'd counter with Benn for OV straight up or Benn + 2nd for Ov + 3rd or no deal.

considering the situation yes i think you are paying too much

if this was you pursuing ovechkin out of the blue i might have a different take but the fact that he wants out of ovechkin and he wants benn to me means you have the leverage he doesnt

i would do the deal without the picks

Looking back at your signature, it's a keep 5 with 12 teams, so a 1st round pick would be 61-72 and 4th round pick would be 97-108 correct? How much difference would you expect there be talent-wise between those picks? If not too much, then I'd be tempted to counter by taking out the D and just doing Benn+1st for Ovechkin+4th. Yandle in a league with blocks is not as valuable.
