Okay, I have no idea why, but my buddy has decided to start shopping Malkin around the league. As probably the deepest team in the league, I'm in a great position to make a move for him.

My question is how much is too much?

My initial offer is currently on the table offering Parise and Cammalleri straight for Malkin.

Give: Parise, Cammalleri
Parise's stock shot through the roof for me because we are a Minneapolis-based league and also, my buddy said for some reason that he likes Cammalleri...

Malkin is a beast, but I'm a Pens fan and afraid I might pay too much. Off the table: Tavares, Callahan, Price, Rask.

I don't think that's too much at all for Malkin. Personally, I'm not as big a fan of Parise as everyone seems to be so maybe I'm not the best to judge this but I would never give Malkin for Parise and Cammy.

And if Tavares, Callahan, Price and Rask are off the table, I don't see one package in which I'd accept the trade.

But there's no shaming in trying. Maybe, since you said your friend is high on both Parise and Cammalleri, maybe he'll accept the trade.

To me you don't have the assets for me to send you Malkin. In my eyes Parise and Cammalleri is a huge underpayment.

I would take nothing less than Tavares/Parise/Rask/Green, but seeing as how this is a limited keeper (keep 5) there is absolutely no way I move Malkin. Zero.

Good luck though, if you can pluck him with what you have, you win the trade.

As for players who are off the table, I'm planning around my 5 keepers that we get. After Malkin, the other 4 keepers would be Tavares, Price, Rask, and Cally, so I'd prefer to avoid including those keepers in the deal. I'm comfortable trading one of my keepers for Malkin, but probably not two and Parise is my most valuable trade asset at this point in time, so I chose him to move.

He mentioned that before trade talks started. I honestly didn't know anybody liked Cammalleri. I only drafted him assuming he can't get worse than he was in Montreal.

well its good you are friends then because i think the trade is pretty insulting but he shouldnt take offense if you are friends

in a keep five league, i think you will be lucky to get malkin without including both tavares and rask and maybe more. if you can make something happen around parise and cammy, power to ya.
