I really like my team this year. Of course it depends on Getz and Datsyuk scoring, and Neal having another great year. But I think this is a decent team. Still, I am short a D-man. Thinking about trading with an owner who really needs a goalie and is loaded at D. How about Price even up for Suter, Green or Weber? Goalie count a ton in my league, but I figure that with Fleury and Rinne I can run with two all year in a short season. Giving up too much?
The other strategy would be to go one short at D and try to get a little more scoring out of my F's. But I would think that Price is still my main trade bait.

I'd play it by ear and adjust during the season to see what you need.
Is this H2H or Roto? In H2H I've played one D short and even went to the extreme of 2 D short a couple of times and have won, but with a compressed schedule it might not work as well as it would in a typical season. In a 10-teamer, I'd be more inclined to maybe move one of your wingers, Gabby, Semin or Lupul for a blue-liner instead. Wingers you can always find and the gap between WW wingers compared to rostered wingers isn't all that big... So maybe try to see if you can move one of those guys for a D instead. You might not be able to get the quality of Green, Suter or Weber back, but one of those guys could still fetch decent value, with much less risk than moving a G. G straight up for a D seems too much of a gamble to me. If you move Price and say Rinne or Fleury goes down, there goes all of your goalie stats... If you keep all 3 you have much more of an insurance policy.

Great point. Yeah, moving a good G is a big risk. I could even drop one of my lesser F's and grab a FA. Carlson, Carle, Fowler, Kulikov, I. White, OEL, Leddy, Liles, Girardi and McDonough are all out there. But going a D short with the likes of Karlsson and Letang on my team is probably not a bad move.
Thanks!

How many W do you start per day?

You got a very good D, in my opinion, all you got to do is look to the free agents and pick a couple guys up, and dump Souray. Karlsson and Letang are money, and you have them both, you only start 4 and there are some awesome options that are free agents.
Whatever you do don't move out Price for one of the D you suggested, when you can pick up OEL, and one of Fowler, Carlson, Kulikov, ect. |

The great thing about your roster is that you have a lot of dual eligible guys, which means you can just slot them wherever anyways. Might not even be a bad idea to drop Downie and pick up Carlson (low cost, low risk move). He still should get plenty of time on the 2nd PP unit, if he isn't on the top unit with Ovy, Backstrom and Green...

2010-11: when Vissy was firing, the Ducks PP operated at 23.5% which ranked 3rd in the entire league. 2009-10: T-4th 21.0%, 2008-09: T-4th 23.6% Last season they were primarily hurt because of Vissy's poor play and a lack of a puck-moving blue-liner and they operated at a woeful 16.6% (21st in the league). Souray should take over that pivotal PP QB role and get that PP revving again. At the end of the day the main pieces are all there, Getz, Perry, Selanne, and/or Ryan/Fowler along with Souray... and that's a pretty potent PP unit who could do major damage if they find their groove again. I'd definitely keep Souray!

Yeah, I like Souray. He will give me PIM's too. I could certainly dump Michalek for one of those D's. With all the dual-eligible guys I won't have a problem filling my roster every night. That's why I might actually want that 4th D. You start 4 of them every night and I will probably have guys who are playing and riding my bench because of all the dual eligible guys.
I have a blockbuster proposed - Price, Briere and Lupul for H-Sed, Elliott and one of the owner's D's - either Green, Subban, Weber or Suter - her choice. Not sure if she will bite, but you never know.
