Default Saad or Atkinson

I think Atkinson has a better chance of sticking a top six role in CB, but Saad is on a better team, although I think at best he is in the bottom six this year. Need to decided between the two. Any insight?

I prefer Atkinson for this season and Saad for the long haul. I'd probably opt for Saad. But it's close, especially when you consider Atkinson's role for this year.

Atkinson all the way. The way he was playing down the stretch last yewr showed that he is special, and his play in the "A" this year is confirming that. I like Saad's size and tools, but he is not the riyht choice here. Cam will be a serious scorer for CBJ. Saad will be a complimentary player in Chi.

Atkinson is just too small. I see his upside as Descharnais. That's not bad, but you need to be in a deep league or using him in career year. Atkinson will always be the kind of player that gets pushed aside, because others younger, get opportunity. He might thrive in an expansion style NHL, in which bottom feeding teams are looking for anyone that can put the puck in the net. I do agree that he could have opportunity this coming year. Could.

Umberger, Dubinsky, Prospal, Brassard, Foligno, Johansen, Anisimov look like the top two lines to me. Prospal and Brassard don't do much for me on the defensive side of the ice. Johansen may be ready to step up. Anisimov has to be excited for the new opportunity. Same for the grinding Umberger, Dubinsky & Foligno.

Steve Sullivan, Ray Whitney, Martin St. Louis, Paul Kariya... have had excellent NHL careers. There are more sad stories than success stories though, with little guys.

Saad scored very nicely in Junior last year. He's the right size, three years younger, was a solid draft pick... he'll be given every chance to succeed.

So in full keeper leagues, I think I'd take Saad, and wait patiently. There will be opportunity in Chicago, and when that opportunity comes, he could instantly become VERY interesting. In a few years, Saad may be an interesting multi-cat style player.

In one year, or partial keeper, the argument for Atkinson becomes much, much better. I think I'd take Atkinson, hope for a hot spell, and look to move him for something more secure.

Thanks for the input, this is exacly what I am thinking. I feel Saad will still be there for me to pick up next year, Atkinson has a little more "heat" around him right now, more so after the AHL numbers he had during the lockout.

I'm Saad to say, that I'd take Atkinson. I like Saad, but right now I think Atkinson is the better pick, he has a very good chance at establishing himself as the top guy in Columbus. Atkinson should have every oppertunity to shine this season, and moving forward.
