I remember reading that the Rangers were nervous to open the bank for him. Yes he had a solid year last year, but the year prior to that he was pretty unstable (even sent down to the AHL for a stint) so that was something that played into their thinking. Hard to believe the Rangers being conservative and actually thinking through a signing, but it seems that is what they were doing here with MDZ.
