You should really consider another form of exercise to jogging. It will only make your plantar fasciitis worse

Jogging, in general, isn't good for 90% of people. It is very hard on the knees and hips. I have a dislocated jaw (bad TMJ) and jogging really aggravates it, so I stick to intervals for my cardio. I am fine playing sports, but it is the repetitive nature of running on pavement that is trouble.

It is tough because so many people are used to running and have been doing it forever, but there are much more efficient and effective ways to get in and remain in shape.

That being said, it does work for some people. All about minimizing the risks while doing something you enjoy.

and if you are gonna jog, jogging on a more forgiving surface than pavement/concrete is much better for your joints...for example, running on grass in the park is not nearly as tough on your body

I hear you, but I've tried other things, and for me personally, nothing gets my heart beat going and works up a sweat like running. The feeling is unbeatable, especially if you run outdoors - I just can't stick to something where I'm stationary - I find it lacks the same intensity and even bores me.

I find running bleachers is easier on my knees than jogging. I'm in the category of those that can't flat out run on a mill or outside. My knees wind up killing me. But the bleachers, tabata workouts, and ellipticals are good for my cardio, without the pain.

Not in sports so running per se is not as important to me, as opposed to elevating heart rate generally.

Bingo. As I said above - do what you love. And you are aware of your injury and work with it. That is important. Most people lack that awareness.

I can't stand running either...i'd rather swim or bike or inline skate if I need a regular cardio workout. Another great one is hiking, if you live near a national park or mountains its a beautiful way to get a ton of great exercise and it doesn't feel like exercise
