Hi Angus,
Can you provide some advice on keepers for the 12-13 season? We are completely redrafting for 13-14 so this is the last year for this team.
- Salary Cap league
- ESPN pts league: Goals, Assists, Hits, Blocked Shots, +/-

I am thinking of keeping the following forwards. Would you consider replacing any of the below with Tyler Seguin?
- Ryan Getzlaf
- Taylor Hall
- Phil Kessel
- James Neal

I have 2 spots available at D. I am leaning towards keeping Niklas Kronwall & Brent Seabrook. Would you recommend replacing either with Tobias Enstrom or PK Subban?

Goalie: Leaning towards Kari Lehtonen over Hiller or Holtby.

Thanks...Go Pens.

Hypothesis 2: For whatever reason, these players don't hit their groove until they play 30-40 games. If this is the case, they may under-perform.
I don't. I think you can throw that out the window. I think it benefits players who have trained properly or been playing over in Europe. Others are playing catch up.

The detroit forward situation is in question. Will brunner be a top 6 next to zetterberg? If detroit go out and acquire omark, do you see omark playing with zetterberg and producing? Whete does nyquist fit in? Do you see him playing in top 6 this year?

In a points only league where goals and special team points are weighted slightly more, who would you ratehr have: Benn or Kopitar?

Welcome back Angus (Also thanks for some of your fitness articles during the lockout)

Anywho, my question. I need to trim the following down to 27 players for my keeper list. It's a capped league and I'm not likely to contend for a few years. Can you please help with who you think I should let go? Thanks

Logan Couture - Steven Stamkos - James Neal
Antoine Vermette - Mikko Koivu - Nikolai Kulem
Saku Koivu - Sean Bergenheim - Tim Connolly
Casey Cizikas - Jaden Schwartz - Nick Cousins
Alex Galchenyuk - Jerry D'Amigo - Jeremy Morin
Michael Sgarbossa - Mario Lucia - Rhett Rakhshani - Eric Fehr

Victor Hedman - Ryan Whitney
Justin Faulk - Jake Gardiner
Ryan Ellis - Dmitri Orlov
Jan Hejda - Matthew Finn
Yannick Webber - Wade Redden

Semyon Varlamov
JS Giguere - Martin Jones

Thanks again

Some AHL-related questions for you.

1. How do you see Tyler Johnson (Tampa) turning out in the NHL? He was just behind Conacher last year and this year he's leading Syracuse in scoring. He's fast as hell and getting stronger, might have to convert to wing in the NHL... is he worth a spot on my farm?

2. What about the Dallas prospect winger situation. I think I asked you this over the summer, but it's always interesting to get an updated view. I own Ritchie and Chiasson. Chiasson had a slow start in the AHL but the last month he's been playing mainly with Reilly Smith and Eakin and he's started producing pretty well. Still some things to work on, but he seems headed in the right direction. Which of those two do you think will be the better NHL scorer?

3. Jeremy Morin. Will he ever arrive? I'm pretty discouraged after this AHL season so far.

Looking at Minnesota's potential top 6 for this season:

Parise - Koivu - Setoguchi
Heatley - Granlund - Bouchard

There is definetly some weakness on the right side that could be improved and with the cap decreasing next year and introduction to compliance buyouts, we may see heatley on the move, do you think?

Also some interesting prospects in the pipeline coming up. Most notably Jason Zucker who is leading his AHL team in scoring at the time of writing this 32 pts in 31 gms. Also Charlie Coyle who isnt playing as well in the AHL has 20 pts. Coyle though imo has the higher upside. Where do you see these two particular prospects fitting into the lineup this year or next?
