I'm thinking of snagging Brunner off the Free agent list. He's a Hott commodity with our pool right now but still available. Is anyone on my team worth dumping for him?

I traded Zetterburg, giordano and halak for Tarasenko, Enstrom and Schneider in the offseason. Banking on Schneider being a number 1 goalie. I'd like Brunner if he's gonna be a steal and play with Zetterburg.

Noone knows, Brunner is a boom or bust.
I've seen him play regularly here in the Swiss league, he's a very skilled player, his points didn't just come by the good fortune of playing with Zetts (he's been dominating before Zetts joined EV Zug as well).
I'm not sure if he has enough grit and fight to make it in the NHL though. He can get frustrated. But it's probably safe to say that he'll get at least a shot to continue his thing with Zetts.
If you want to take this gamble, I'd drop Tanguay. He's oldish and not too valueable anyway. And Bartschi may take over the LW slot on Clagary's top line soon (but that's speculation as well...).

Boy, i could see standing pat, but I'd be tempted to let Vis or McDonald go for him. McD is35 and Tarasenko, Oshie and Schwartz have scary skill. I suspect his time will go down if he doesn't get injured which would likely SWING the door open for one the young bucks. Brunner is 26 and should be in Det's top 6.

I would definately take a chance on Brunner. From what i am hearing he´ll get top 6 minutes in Detroit and is very likely to play on a Line with Zetts. Watch out for him - Drop Tanguay and get Brunner - He will also have some serious trade value if he does what he´s expected to

Only player worth considering dropping would be Visnovsky, and that's only if your fine with not having a bench D, even then Visnovsky while a risk still has the ability to out point Brunner from the back end. There both risks Visnovsky more so than Brunner, but for Visnovsky the risk has potential for greater reward.

From the forward side no way would I drop Tanguay a proven good player, who will get Top 6 time in Calgary probably playing on the top line with Iginla. If Brunner does as good as Tanguay I would be surprised, not worth dropping Tanguay at the off chance that Brunner matches Tanguay's totals in Calgary.

Wouldn't drop McDonald either, both guys come at a risk McDonald and his health and Brunner with the fact that he's unproven. But I'd rather gamble on the proven point producer who has injury problems than a guy who's never done anything at the NHL level.

That leaves Granlund, Tarasenko, and Bartschi. All three are unproven players just like Brunner, but have a higher potential they may come at slightly more risk but I feel like they have higher point potential, and have the ability to be kept on as keepers.

I could let any one of Tanguay, McDonald, or Visnovski go to take a flyer on Brunner. None of them are keepers for you anyway and Brunner could be something special. Tanguay would be #1 on that drop list though.
