Thrones and Breaking Bad aren't back for a few months...

What should I watch now????

I've watched most of season 1 of Oz....

I've watched one season of the Wire and eager to continue..

I've downloaded Battlestar Galatica because I've heard such great things...

Any others? Or which of those three?

Oz is dated and really viciously rapey so I'm not sure I'd recommend continuing. The Wire on the other hand is an absolute masterpiece - quite possibly the best TV show ever so I'd recommend continuing. Just a heads up, the second season of The Wire takes a fairly big change from the first season but it's totally worth sticking with.

Yaaa that's what i've heard. I loved season 1 of the Wire and then was about to start season 2 until I was sidetracked with another show. This might be the time to get back into it.

Yeah, it really cannot be oversold. I've tried. It just lives up to the hype.

You probably wouldn't be wrong to give Battlestar a shot. I haven't seen it personally but apparently it really is a great show built around more than what you'd expect out of the sci-fi genre. Apparently they really spend a lot of time telling a good story and it's one that they could have told beyond the sci-fi genre but used the established Battlestar universe as a vehicle to get it off the ground.

If you are someone who appreciates their showrunners having a vision and sticking with it then I think that sentiment about Battlestar is one you can appreciate even before having watched the show.

The Wire was awesome. I preferred The Shield, personally. Battlestar Gallactica is hands down my favourite tv show of all time. William Adama and Al Swearengen are my 2 favourite tv characters ever.

I enjoyed The 2 seasons of The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

For some good EMT, Fire and Police action, try Third Watch (an older series dating back to the early 2000's, but real engaging). Criminal Minds is another one that I got caught up in.

True Blood is good one (it takes a couple of episodes to get into it, as the early harcore vampire intercourse scenes may scare some away ).

I also like Entourage and Californiacation.

Lastly, I just started watching Being Human (the U.S version) and Supernatural (ya I know, I'm late...) but I am hooked on both.

If those series don't catch your eye, you can always pop in an old Rock'em Sock'em for some cheap thrills.

I agree with Bass that True Blood is a good choice as well. It definitely has some ridiculous story lines but it is still a fun show. This last season was poor but the others were quite enjoyable.

If you like war stuff and haven't seen Band of Brothers and The Pacific, those are must-sees.

On my queue is Sons of Anarchy due to the number of recommendations. Hope it helps.

Season 1 of Jericho is pretty good, and a lot of people haven't seen it.
I would NOT recommend Season 2.

I'm nearing my own need for a new TV show.
I've got about 3 episodes left of Breaking Bad, Season 4... and then I'll need something.

I'm probably going to up our family Netflix Discs to 2-at-a-time and try the Wire too.
