8. Vladimir Tarasenko
9. Riley Sheahan
10. Jack Campbell

Overall, not too bad.
Looks like that ranking is from January of 2010.....at that point Kabanov and McFarland were still getting talked up as 1st round players. They were both falling at that point but if Button liked them enough early on, I could see why he kept them ranked so high.

Remember at one point McFarland was looked at as a player capable of challenging for 1st overall.....as was Kabanov but being Russian kept that from ever seriously happening, and then all the crazyness went down with him.

We have to keep in mind these are Button's rankings and his alone. They aren't a consensus ranking or a mock draft. If he likes McFarland or Kabanov enough, take it for what it's worth as one man's opinion.

Same as the list in OP, although it really is pretty wackadoo.

Glad there's a thread on this. Leaving aside the usual disagreements about which guys should have been higher, I was pretty surprised to see Ritchie at 11th too - wow - WTF?!? This guy is available in my league (in sig) but I had not plans to pick him up. I know he's made Canada's junior team (and may play in the top 6) and he's having a great OHL season, but am I missing something and is this guy anywhere near 11th best prospect like this list suggests?

Well who is your most droppable prospect currently? And no, I am not buying that hype from Button. He is definitely underrated but not even close to #11 in my book.

Dakster , remember , keep it cool , everyone isn't as perfect as you , lol!
Seems like a decent ranking , not a bad record , even the best in the business miss a few gems.

I was expecting someone to come in here and mention a reliable source for predicting prospects and their futures. Probably havent heard any names because realistically, there arent many.

I respect Button on the fact he is willing to put out a list at all and stand by it.

Call him a goof, or an idiot or whatever you want but until you put yourself out there, create your own list and then stand behind it year after year you really shouldnt have much negative to say.
