Does anybody know the status of Jamie Benn? There's nothing in the injury reports I've seen.

Benn does not have a contract - he is in negotiations.
He is not injured, he just can't play until he has a contract.

He is suffering from a LBI, localized to his wallet. He is getting treatment from his agent and is week-to-week. He's expected to make a full recovery once he is cleared to play by management.

Oh, and there's the whole RFA contract thing...

I think I've heard that they've actually agreed to a $ amount per year... but they can't agree on length of the contract. (I hope I'm not making that up).

It'll get done... but he'll obviously miss tomorrow's game.
I'd guess he'll miss 3-4 games and be back by the 5th (just a hunch).

He better come back soon, my boy Lehtonen needs some goal support!

Having said that, missing 4-5 games in a season this short is HUGE in my books, and I'm glad I passed up on him to take Kane.
