Default Pacioretty for Pietrangelo? Would you?

I've offered Pacioretty and S.Elliott for Pietrangelo plus garbage. The other owner says he will think on it.

Am I giving up too much, or not enough?

My team/league is in my sig.

Thank you in advance.

It's a decent offer but as an AP owner that wouldn't be enough for me. MaxPac is great and Elliott is still very promising D-man but AP is already one of the best D-men in the league and will stay there a long time. This would be great deal for you if the other guy accepts it. You have good replacement forwards sitting on the bench and D is your weak spot. This trade would address your team needs and you'd get the best player in the deal.

Ya I love Max Power, but for AP that is not enough. Hopefully he bites!

It's not a bad starting point but I doubt it's enough on the surface. I would expect the other manager to want more, especially if he values high end defensemen, but we don't know his needs. Can you provide his roster? Finding a good fit along with providing good value is key to most deals being accepted.

Looking at his roster and being a keep 10, I think that it might take a really good offer to pry AP off him since he really only has Chara otherwise as a productive high end D. The others have potential but aren't there yet. If I'm the other manager, I'm targeting Toews. He seems to have ok depth on the wings but at centre it's a bit weaker with Ennis, Pavelski and Roy.

That being said, you have one top D and he has two, so I'm not sure how easy it will be to pry AP off him. Keep that in mind, and perhaps as a backup plan find another team that might have better high end depth on D and perhaps less wing depth. There may not be though, since it's a 14-teamer, so you tell me. If that's the case, then high end D are very valuable and will take a lot to acquire.

I'm always in favour of throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks. Ultimately this isn't an embarrassing offer so I don't see why you wouldn't try it. If nothing else, it could get the ball rolling towards a deal.

1) Don't overestimate rival GMs. We all have different levels of commitment to fantasy hockey.
2) This is not embarrassing. This is a solid first offer. The other GM will not feel like you think he is a moron. He might even accept.

agreed with above. i'm another Piet owner who would only trade him if an elite piece is coming back. if you can get him, count your blessings and enjoy adding another cornerstone to your team

Pretty fair offer.
I'd prefer AP-side in a limited (keep-10) keeper.
