Default Zetterberg stock value

Hi,

For the first this I joined a NHL fantasy league. My team is struggling therefore I am thing of rebuilding. I'm thinking of tradin Zetterberg in order to get young talent in return. One of the other mangers is interested.

He is willing to give up James van Riemsdyk. He also has Sven Baertschi as a propect.

Zetterberg for these two? Am I getting enough?

Thanks in advance

Hey Tangzaro, welcome to the boards. Could you please give us more information regarding your league; i.e. total teams, categories, number of keepers, is there a farm team, your current team's composition, etc? The more information you give us, the better we are able to give you sage advice.

I'm with Woodrow here, far too little information to give an informed opinion - include things like league format and starting roster positions as well as what Woodrow has laid out.

When I say points only. I mean wins and losses, like the real league.

If you're going for a rebuild I don't have a problem with this deal at all. Van Riemsdyk and Baertschi individually won't net you the ~70 points Zetterberg will, but they should be able to by the time Granlund and all your younger guys are hitting their stride. If the other guy is going for it in the near future I think this is a win-win.

I'm down with this too.

Zetterberg is a fairly legit PPG guy, but he seems to usually miss 7-10 games per year and his team is heading towards the unknown in the next few years (sans Lidstrom and Datsyuk aging - among others).

A year ago, JVR was all the rage. The bloom is off the rose a bit, but he still has the talent and will get plenty of opportunities in Toronto - something he wasn't getting in Philly. I like the trade for him.

Baertschi is also the future in Calgary. That team is ALSO in a flux, but Baertschi should get every chance in the book.

I like this trade for you.

Curiously enough, a year ago I decided I needed to get a bit older and had a chance to win some $, so moved JVR and Subban for Zetterberg and Lidstrom in a points-only pool. So I'm maybe a bit familiar with your thinking.

I would do this. Like JVR's upside with the leafs and LOVE SB's upside that much more. I think SB is going to be Hossa 2.0. And given every opportunity to blossom in Cow-town. Zetts is still serviceable but the clock is running and a locked out season isin't going to slow down his cell clock.

Thanks guys for your help. Unfortunately, the Zetterberg for JVR didn't work out. However I was offered the following trade from another team.

Kyle Okposo and Chris Kelly and one of the following players:

Lauri Korpikoski

Prospects

Mitch Wahl
James Martin
Jon Gilles
Michael Ferland
Chris Breen

I like Okposo because he will likely play with Tavares and Moulson for a few years. Kelly won't score points but will be a good defensive forward. Hopefully Korpikoski can net 20-25 goals in the near future, but maybe that's just wishful thinking.

Any thoughts?
