I think you did well. Some of the picks shocked me (Reinhart before Schultz? Hamilton lasting so long?).

It's for the team in your sig? I noticed you don't have any superstar outside of Giroux, so taking the young guys now are better, I think.

If you are rebuilding, I'd look to move one of Luongo/Ward for high draft picks, and then protect someone like Tarasenko or Nyqvist.

Also, in you sit, that's supposed to be Carle, right? Not Carl?

Pretty good draft for a rebuild.

Think it might take a few years for prospects to develop but you have some of the best in Huberdeau, Schultz, Tarasenko, Galchenyuk, Grigorenko, Strome, etc.

Rask was a good 1st pick.

Might have gone for Wheeler or Voracek in 2nd round if you wanted production rig now.

Only concern is your a few years from competing, and half of your keepers are still prospects.

I think your rebuild is going to take some time, especially with all the young guys on your roster. Hopefully they develop as expected. Case in point is JVR. A couple of years ago, you would have had him bolded as one of your keepers. Now that the shine is worn off him, people are giving up on him somewhat.

I'm a fan of building up the assets and then moving them for proven entities if you can make a push to create a competitive team in doing so.

I took it to mean hat trick. Not sure if that's right or not though.

I assumed so since Brown and Backes weren't kept and with 200 hits equal 600 points (which is worth 300 goals)

My first thought is that your team is very young, with the exception of veteran studs like Whitney, Seabrook, Phaneuf, Carle, Enstrom, Ward and Rask.

With that said, you have an amazing core with all of these young guys on your team, but in order to compete sooner rather than later you'll need to make some moves.

1. Trade Luongo for a veteran stud forward you can depend on, that will leave you with Ward and Rask (pretty awesome tandem).

2. Can you store any of these guys on your farm team? A bunch of them will not be in the NHL whenever the lockout ends IMO.

3. I'd be more open to keeping guys like Duchene, JVR and Skinner because they have more experience than the others.

4. You have lots of amazing prospects, but you have to decide if you're willing to wait or you want to compete now.

If you feel like this is the perfect team to build around, by all means keep all your players. If you want to compete, you should be open to dealing away some of the younger talent to other teams that are rebuilding, you really have an embarrassment of riches there IMO.

Good luck.

His team being called "The Griffins" might have something to do with it. I was also pretty shocked that Franzen went before Backes. Even without hits, FOW or PIM I'll take Backes every time.

I think you made some good calls. Snagging Carle in the 5th could be huge for you. I might have taken Versteeg ahead of Hornqvist, but an argument can be made either way. In a full keeper I would be losing my mind with all the top prospects you accumulated. It's too bad you'll have to cut most of them at the end of the year.

Ward/Luongo and Rask should be a really solid pair for you, so I'd shop one of Ward or Luongo, like others have said. You could also try to move some of your prospects for lesser players that will help you this year. You're going to drop them all anyways, right? Maybe Tarasenko and Phaneuf for Yandle or Subban or someone. I think there are any number of scenarios in which you could pair a decent player with a top prospect and come out ahead at the end of the year.
