Which way will Kirkman and Co. take things?
Interesting, I hope this makes the show better and not worse.

I started Battlestar Gallactica. Heard good things. Got through the first episode of the miniseries. Worth continuing for a couple more.

I gave Mad Men an episode, but was so bored I couldn't bring myself to watch a second one. I hear such good things...but just didn't see it.

If you are looking for action, you will definitely not find it with Mad Men. But the symbolism, themes, plot lines, and character development are second to none. I also enjoy the historical setting of the show.

I started Battlestar Galactica a while back (LOVE sci-fi) and while I found it enjoyable for the most part, it didn't grab me and I've watched the first couple episodes of season two multiple times as I haven't enjoyed it enough to watch it over other shows. The acting just isn't good enough to sell it, IMO. I feel that if it had better actors I would enjoy it a hell of a lot more.

I can't stand the blondy who was also in 24 (can't remember her name, main character) nor can I stand the asian girl (hawaii 5-0 maybe?) and some of the others. I love the two commanders and a couple others but just wasn't "true" enough for me.

Katee Sackhoff is the actress and I completely agree- I don't like her character at all. I didn't really like her on 24 either.

Out of those five I've only seen Justified. Awesome show and one I highly recommend. Most everybody on here will recommend Lost though.

Well it's my personal belief that Lost is easily the best of the bunch but it is quite the commitment for a show that is very divisive.

I also really like Justified.

This summer, my wife & I watched all 70+ episodes from the full five seasons using Netflix Instant. We'd watch about 2 episodes every night. Of the five seasons, season 2 was probably the weakest (specifically the Landry/Tyra... uh, stuff). Season 2 was also cut short by the writers strike and ends without a bang. I thought Seasons 3 & 5 were very good. The series finale was amazing, IMO. That's how you end a show. My wife & I chalk up this show as the best show we've ever enjoyed watching. (not necessarily the "best show in TV history"... just as one we thoroughly enjoyed). Season 4 was actually a really interesting season... all new characters, which, aside from "Becky", end up being a really solid new cast to follow.

Side Note: After watching all of FNL on Netflix Instant, we were forced to jump into a new family-oriented show. We chose Parenthood, which was a little slow in Season 1 and we just finished Season 3 and are really enjoying it. Need to somehow catch up to the current season (4).

re: Lost.
I thought it was an incredible show for every single season except the last season. Personally, I think the writers "mailed it in" for that last season ***SPOILER***... stubbornly refusing to go with the pergatory/heaven/hell route. If they would've gone in that direction, the show would have been fantastic. But that last season, specifically the final episode, was sooo disappointing. ***SPOILER***.

re: The Wire
Guess who has two thumbs and has The Wire Season 1 Disc 1 coming to his house tomorrow?
My wife and I love Friday Night Lights, absolutely amazing show. Watching it over again on Netflix. And Parenthood, another amazing show, we have 4 episodes yet to watch as we DVR'd them. We left off with her getting told about cancer still existing after she already had the one surgery.

Anyway, both FANTASTIC shows!!
